Can you believe the President of the United States, the Commander in Chief of ALL our armed forces: Marines, Army, Navy, Air Force, and Coast Guard ... equated the Navy to an archaic organization when he said there is a reason the ships have been drawn down to extremely low numbers: he said we don't need horses or bayonets either.
Way to go Obama!
90% of the world's commerce travels by sea. The communist nations of China and Russia are ratcheting up their production of submarines (Russia builds a fast attack submarine at the rate of one a month and has been doing that for years) and China is commissioning its first air craft carrier.
Recently there was a Russian submarine in the Gulf of Mexico taking pictures of the Gulf Coast and we didn't detect it. They sent us the pictures!! Kind of a GOT CHA moment. See Drudge, Fox News, Business Insider, Global Christian Post, and The Examiner for that info.
Rome burned while Nero fiddled - at least Nero was awake enough to fiddle -- our Commander in Chief seems to be asleep at the switch.
The audacity (not of hope) but of a Commander in Chief insulting an entire branch of the Armed Services calling it archaic is disgusting. I believe the word asinine fully applies.
Having US Navy ships deployed in the Atlantic and Pacific Oceans as well as the Mediterranean gives us the capability of shooting down EMP missiles before they reach the United States as well as other valuable contributions to the security of America.
President Obama said he would not allow the sequestration cuts to the Armed Forces ready to take effect January 1, 2013 to happen. It seems with the archaic Navy comment he has a built in place to start his cuts.
President Obama you lost one more vote with your off-the-cuff stupid remark.
GET HIM!!! GREAT POST!
