Humans like to muddy the waters and say truth has two sides, truth has shades of grey, it is situational, truth only represents the tellers side of the story. Truth is whatever seems appropriate at the time.
The courtrooms seem to believe in truth. People who give testimony in court swear on a Bible to "tell the truth, the whole truth, and nothing but the truth, so help me God.
Pretty straightforward. Society expects the truth be told or the liar will face God's wrath.
So, if religion is supposed to lead you to God how can religions with diametrically opposed ways to God all be true? According to an internet search there are 4,200 religions in the world. I guess that is why some are called the "world's great" religions, because there are a lot of fringe religions out there too.
So what are the World's Great Religions?
I would add:
One is truth the others are simply lies. Poetic traditions meant to make sinful man feel worthy of God's mercy and immune to God's wrath. Or simply meant to elevate mankind to the level of God, deny God altogether or replace God with the Devil.
Which of the above do you adhere to? Are you a devotee of one of the other 4,200 religions? Or have you picked a la carte from many and created a modified belief system that works for you?
We can believe or not believe in anything we want to here on earth. We decide. My religion, my faith, my belief is as good as yours.
None of us knows what really happens when we die. Do we cease to exist entirely? Does a soul remain? Is there an afterlife? Is there eternity and if so do the dead consciously occupy it? Is there reward and punishment in eternity? A do-over chance? Or nothing at all?
I know what I believe. I have staked my life on it. I hold to one and reject all the others. If my fate in eternity is determined by me now here on earth I have sealed my fate. I have made my choice.
What choice have you decided to leave this earth with?
